At Sea Turtle, Inc. our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured sea turtles, educate the public, and assist with conservation efforts for all marine turtle species. An essential part of endangered species conservation is simply to help people to understand the species and their importance not only to their habitat, but to our lives as well. Visitors to the facility can participate in a ''Turtle Talk'' which are given multiple times throughout the day. Additionally, we provide age-appropriate presentations for school groups and bi-lingual tours upon request. Sea Turtle, Inc. reached over 125,000 visitors in 2015!
You will also get to meet Allison, an Atlantic green who was fit with the first ever successful sea turtle prosthetic device, her playmate Merry Christmas, lovable Fred the Loggerhead, Hang 10 who is our little Kemp’s ridley, Erika another lovely green, our over the top friendly green Boudreaux, and our famous green social butterfly Gerry, who has met Johnny Carson and David Letterman. In addition to our residents, you will get to meet any patients that we are currently rehabilitating. Enrichment feedings are done twice a day.
Sea Turtle, Inc. is open for visitors year round, closed only on Mondays and Christmas day. We are a nonprofit, 501(C)(3) organization, operating solely on donations. We recommend a $4.00 adult, $2.00 child donation.
